Hi! I find your video really helpfull. You gave me answer for not only the topic question but for many others. It is difficult to think positively and your comments that “one workout a week is fine” or “chosing reading a book over a workout is ok” make feel better. I try to employ your motto: “progress, not perfection” to everything. I agree that physical activity improves all aspects of our life. Thank you!

    Daniel,
Great insight to the mental aspect of fitness. You are so correct about finding our own fitness ‘sweet’ spot. And especially not just going through the motions.
I’ve added other athletics to the work-out; These are great compliments to the work-out. Highly recommend to anyone to keep things interesting.

The whole dentist bit was hilarious. And I also agree that burpees should be banned. 🙂

Thank you TBP . I tried many workout regime with my kids . Since they don’t have school and going out to public place is a scare it was difficult to get them to have fun and get exercise . But we started TBP workout sessions they are happy and daughter especially is so motivated .

    Thank you

Thank you so much for this! I stopped exercising 7 days a week because I was told you must let your body rest, but I actually felt better with the seven days. They’re only half hour exercises, but I love how I feel for the rest of the day. So I’m going back to seven days! For some of us, we hate exercise a lot. So now I just think about those little bursts of addictive energy I get throughout the day and It’s easy peasy to get started! Haha

Daniel, Thank you for the thoughtful Vlog on this important issue! I love the fact that you explain that each person does have their own needs and goals and you must listen to your own body. I do work out every day, but your point on balancing life priorities is spot on.

Enjoyed listening to the Vlog. 61, and have not been working out recently; working on a couple a week. Just realized I have not been logging in. Very pleased that I can keep up. Nice to hear not everybody can make three or four a week. I am a Realtor with a nuero-muscular neuropathy, noted my hip was not holding up. Seeing progress already. Thanks.

Thank you, Daniel. I’ve been a member for a few months. I’m on the West Coast of the US. I do your workouts on my Roku TBP channel. I really enjoy how reasonable you are. Do I have the juicer? With the support of you and Alex, I do.

Hi Daniel. I found TBP last year when the pandemic made gyms risky places to go. I have been working out for years and do so to maintain fitness. I am 68 years of age. I workout six days a week and like the blend of cardio and resistance in these workouts. I have done plenty of cardio and need more resistance work mixed in at this point to maintain tone. With regard to turbos, I do cardio turbos on some days, mainly the days that I do a resistance focused workouts so that I get both cardio and resistance. This is a great site and I am very happy to have found you!

Daniel! Thank you so much. I’ve been following you all since 2017-ish and you all have been game changers. As a plus-sized person who has been plus-sized their entire life, I often find mass-marketed workouts intimidating, but I also *love* cardio. I’ve been a runner since I was 16, but since moving to Texas in 2018 it’s been too hot to run outside like 9 months of the year. I started working out with you because I realized I was afraid of weight lifting and wanted to do a little more 🙂

The fact that y’all are so body positive, encouraging, and include people in your workouts who look like me and that you and Alex show that you’re sweating and tired has really encouraged me to push through workouts and not give up. I also love that you encourage pushing pause when you need to. It’s encouraging to be reminded that we’re all human and we can’t be the best at something immediately. Pressing pause when needed, modifying workouts, and working in workouts when I can has really, truly made a difference.

in the past I struggled with an “all or nothing” mentality, where I’d (falsely) convince myself that if I missed a workout because I was too busy, or if I couldn’t get in a full hour a day, I was failing and would skip the rest of the week. Changing my mindset to “doing what I can” has meant that I actually have worked out more. And while I am not to the point yet in my life that I can squeeze in more than 2-4 hours of workouts per week, I’m finding that I’m working out way more than I ever have and that I have extra energy on the weekends to do active activities like hiking. So thank you, thank you, thank you for all you do! 🙂

I am 64 and find it necessary to start off EVERY DAY with a workout. If I don’t feel too energetic, I will select a stretch or a short cardio video outside of my regular daily program.

I’m so glad I found y’all!! I have Hypothyroidism and PCOS and so it’s very hard for me to loose weight I try to work out at least 3-5 times a week but it’s hard sometimes I’m a SAHM with a 4 and 19 mth old so sometimes it’s difficult but I’m trying my best

Thanks Daniel, great talk today! I enjoy you and Alex’s workouts so much, you two are my inspiration on my healthy journey. I have come a long way since I started in June. Thanks to TBP!

Thanks Daniel! Relevant to today’s topic, and after doing TBP for nearly a year, one of my outcomes is knowing my body so much better than I used to. I do a workout nearly every day, but I also know I need to fit in recovery days. In the beginning, I did recovery days as planned in whatever program I was doing. Now I know a recovery day is needed based on how my body feels. This same body awareness seems to be with me all day long. So…thanks again Daniel and Alex and team for changing my life. And thanks for today’s discussion.

I’m trying to work out every day 30+ min. And I want to do for all year without day off. Why??? Because I want to prove myself that I can be that persistent. Same day I started this no stop working out in 1st of Jan 2021 , I stopped smoking as well. And I need this for me. I’m not even losing any weight since I started it. But I still do it, just to prove myself I can do it. All of it..

Thank you Daniel, I really needed to see this!
I suffer from chronic joint pain and really struggle to work out on consecutive days as it tends to make the pain worse not better…I realise now that the juice was not worth the squeeze!
But working out on alternate days, i.e. 3 or 4 workouts per week, adds up to 180 workouts per year…very much worth doing! (my personal motivation being mostly about strength, mobility and bone density)
I was really getting down about my inability to workout on consecutive days without pain, I feel so much better after seeing this

I found my rythm with doing workouts every other day. This way i am putting much more energy into them and have a small recovery day in between. I worked out for a whole year every day with one restday but this was just to much of a mental struggle and felt exhausting especially as someone who has mental health struggles. I finally feel much better about my workouts and i am a lot less stressed

Thanks Daniel & the lovely Alex! I haven’t looked back since discovering you on YouTube last autumn. Signed up in December and have completed senior strong, RS plus, RS hit, RS movement & the Apprentice plan. I’ve got my bmi down to 25.9 & feel stronger for scuba! I’m 60 this year and want to keep fit to dive as long as possible. Thinking I’ll do the essentials next. Keeping everything low impact for joints!
